Iredell County is rolling piedmont with the Catawba River and the upper reaches of Lake Norman along its western boundary and the South Yadkin River draining its north and east. The eastern end of the Brushy Mountains rises as low ridges in its northwestern corner, and the ground elsewhere is low rounded hills.
