Wilkes County elevation and terrain tools

Foothills • County seat: Wilkesboro

Wilkes County is a broad foothills basin on the upper Yadkin River, flooded as Kerr Scott Reservoir above Wilkesboro, walled by the Blue Ridge Escarpment on its north and west and the Brushy Mountains on its south. The bare granite dome of Stone Mountain stands at the foot of the escarpment on the Alleghany line.
