Polk County elevation and terrain tools
Foothills • County seat: Columbus
Polk County sits at the foot of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, which drops steeply across its northwestern side from White Oak Mountain and Tryon Peak. The Green River and the Pacolet River cut through gorges off the escarpment before easing out into the rolling foothills around Columbus.
