Swain County elevation and terrain tools
Mountains • County seat: Bryson City
Swain County is dominated by the Great Smoky Mountains, whose crest along the Tennessee line includes Clingmans Dome and whose southern slopes fall to Fontana Lake and the Tuckasegee River at Bryson City. South of the river the Nantahala River cuts its narrow gorge, with the Alarka and Cowee mountains rising between.
