Halifax County elevation and terrain tools

Coastal Plain • County seat: Halifax

Halifax County lies along the Roanoke River where it drops over the fall line at Roanoke Rapids, with Lake Gaston backed up along its northwestern boundary. West of the falls the ground is rolling piedmont, and east of them it flattens into coastal plain drained by Fishing Creek and Quankey Creek.
